He earned a master’s degree in composition from Ohio University, where he studied under the tutelage of Karl Ahrendt, and then began learning the cello in earnest.

  • Clifton David Briley

David is an American politician who was born in the city of Nashville, Tennessee, in January 1964. He was the seventh mayor of the Metropolitan Nashville and Davidson County area, and he was a Democrat.

He was first elected to the position of vice mayor in 2015, and he was sworn in as interim mayor on March 6, 2018, following Megan Barry’s resignation. In the end, Briley won the May 24 special election to fill the remaining two years of Barry’s term with 55 percent of the vote over almost a dozen competitors, avoiding the need for a runoff and establishing himself as Nashville’s official mayor.
